Young Arts Gropiusstadt

Location of the NEUKÖLLN YOUTH ART SCHOOL

Young Arts Gropiusstadt is part of the Gemeinschaftshaus Gropiusstadt, the largest cultural center in the south of Neukölln. Our Young Arts location was established in 2019 to bring more cultural education, art, and creativity to the south of Neukölln and especially to Gropiusstadt.

Here you will find four well-equipped workshop rooms: a ceramic studio with its own kilns, a large theater rehearsal hall, and two art studios with countless art supplies.

Every week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays we offer art project days for school classes. Here you learn inspiring art techniques and can try them out yourself. Our studios invite you to create art freely on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Who are we?

Who are we and who can participate?
In our various workshops and courses, children and young people can experience art and expand their horizons.

Unlike many other areas of our society and school, in art there is no right or wrong. Here diversity comes alive: pausing, reflecting, creating free spaces, having sensory experiences – regardless of origin, age, or background. Our goal is to share such liberating experiences with children and young people. We understand this as one of our most important tasks.
We develop our program together with experienced artists and art educators who bring their inspiring approaches to our courses.

All children and young people – whether with their school classes or individually in their free time – are warmly invited to be inspired, motivated, and uplifted through creating together with our artists. Young Arts Gropiusstadt provides them with special materials and opportunities that they don’t have at home or at school. But we also show them how to create art, continue thinking, and develop ideas anywhere with the simplest means.

… and how can I participate?
In addition to regular, bookable project days for school classes, we offer a pottery workshop group as well as two weekly studios that children and young people can also visit individually. Furthermore, we also offer artistic workshop groups that we coordinate closely with participating schools.
